What makes our products unique...
Our creams contain high quantities of olive biophenols, especially hydroxytyrosol, which is one of the most powerful known natural antioxidants. It is a highly effective anti-inflammatory and absorbs into the dermal layers where it confers anti-aging properties and provides deep hydration. Hydroxytyrosol also boosts collagen production, thereby reducing fine lines and wrinkles. The creams are scientifically formulated using proprietary whole olive extract, which is completely natural and organic, pesticide-free, and is sustainably produced using environmentally friendly processes.

Hydroxytyrosol and the Mediterranean Diet
There is much evidence for the healthy and beneficial aspects of the Mediterranean diet, which includes plentiful fresh fruit and vegetables, with olive oil being the main source of fat. The oil is monounsaturated and contains high quantities of polyphenols, which are essential to human health. Primary amongst these is the compound hydroxytyrosol, which has been the subject of much scientific research, and extensive clinical and epidemiological studies. In addition to the antioxidant activity, it has powerful anti-inflammatory and anticancer properties. Hydroxytyrosol has been endorsed by the European Food Safety Authority as being particularly beneficial to the cardiovascular system for conditions such as hypertension and arteriosclerosis, one of the very few natural compounds to achieve such acclaim.

About
Dr Clive Garcin received a PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Cape Town and subsequently did several years’ worth of research into various aspects of table olive and olive oil processing.
He developed a process for recycling table olive brine effluent, and has an ongoing interest in the treatment and utilisation of the various byproducts generated by the industry.
His other main interest is in the beneficial aspects of the Mediterranean diet and lifestyle, wherein the olive polyphenols feature prominently. He is the founder of the Disa Scientific research laboratory, and subsequently Disa Biological which focuses exclusively on the olive biophenols.
